New Tenure Track Orientation & Information

New Tenure-Track Orientation takes place at the beginning of fall semesters for all new faculty on the tenure-line to receive resources and tools needed to be successful in the first semester and beyond.

Bookcats
Bookcats is a book club for TXST nontenure line faculty to explore topics in teaching and learning together and make new connections across campus. Every semester we gather to read and discuss a new book.

Scholarship & Teaching Excellence Program (STEP)

A program for new assistant professors dedicated to ensuring a solid foundation for research productivity, teaching & scholarship, awareness of university resources, and tenure & promotion process.

Course Transformation Project
Highlighted by THECB and the Ithaka Research Group as a high-impact program, the Course Transformation Projects focuses on improving student performance in large-enrollment general education courses.

At Write Watchers, we set goals at the beginning and then reflect on what we accomplished at the end. In between, we mute our mics and do deep work, with other supportive faculty working alongside us.

Changes to New Faculty Orientation (NFO)

Starting Fall 2023, Human Resources is overseeing the New Faculty Orientation (NFO). Human Resources will send all new faculty on-boarding information, including information regarding NFO for all benefits-eligible faculty, via email.
