The mission of Faculty Development is to provide relevant, equity-minded programming and resources to inspire faculty excellence in leadership, collaboration, teaching, research, and creative activities.
Hello and welcome to Faculty Development, where we support faculty in building rewarding careers. Whether tenured/tenure-track or as members of our teaching faculty and academic staff, faculty are the face of the university to our students; they drive innovation and discovery; and they are leaders in outreach and service in our university's local, state, national, and international work. Navigating through daily challenges in a complex and large institution can be difficult, and no one should have to figure it out all on their own. Here at Faculty Development, we are focused on providing relevant, equity-minded programming and resources to inspire faculty excellence in leadership, collaboration, teaching, research, and creative activities.
Meet the Team
Dr. Candace Hastings
The Faculty Development office at Texas State has a growing variety of opportunities to support all faculty members. Current and forthcoming initiatives include mentoring and career enhancement resources, communities of practice, and leadership development opportunities. We are always looking for new, innovative workshop ideas, guest speaker suggestions, and other programs to support faculty in a variety of roles. Our office is actively working together with the Faculty Development Advisory Committee, campus partners, and university leadership to address your needs and align our programs with the university’s core values and strategic plan. We welcome faculty from across campus to partner with us to explore new programming ideas and opportunities.
With our emphasis on broad-based participation and impact, requests for funding to support an individual faculty member’s research or teaching agenda are not accepted. In these cases, faculty are encouraged to consider collaborations and partnerships within the frame of current or future Faculty Development initiatives that have lasting and significant benefit to the professional development of a broad spectrum of faculty at the university.
